A climate advocate, environment researcher, citizen journalist, and science communicator, JL is the Deputy Executive Director for Programs and Campaigns of Living Laudato Si Philippines. He has represented the Philippines and the youth sector in regional and global UN conferences on climate and the environment since 2017. He is a three-time fellow of Climate Tracker, having published climate and environmental stories and op-eds on international and local news platforms since 2016. He is one of the co-authors of the first Philippine Climate Change Assessment Report series, the local equivalent to the IPCC reports. He earned his MS Atmospheric Science degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in December 2018.
