What happens when young storytellers are given the tools to find climate stories in the places, people, and things they already care about?

In 2026, Climate Tracker Asia brought together seven young storytellers from across the Philippines for the NextGen Climate Bootcamp, a learning and mentorship program designed to help emerging storytellers understand climate change and find their own ways of reporting it.

Through ClimUp, Climate Tracker Asia’s learning platform, and conversations with journalists and climate practitioners, the fellows explored climate science, systems thinking and people-centered storytelling. They were also mentored by former NextGen fellows, bringing lessons from previous cohorts back into the program.
